Lizzie Velasquez

Lizzie Velasquez is a brave 23 year old from Texas who has an unknown weight syndrome. She hasn't strayed over 60 pounds in her life. She is literally unable to put on weight, so she has to eat every 15-200 minutes to maintain enough weight to survive. She's missing all of her adipose tissue, a doctor explains. "We just don't know why." There are only three known people that have this syndrome. But people weren't very supporting of her. Lizzie reveals that she was bullied lots in school, especially elementary. Even now, she shows up on multiple websites labeled as "The Ugliest Woman in the World", and it just breaks my heart. Lizzie is really a wonderful girl. She took the criticism from her peers, turned it around, and used it as a ladder to climb up to her success. She thought to herself, "You know what?" I'm going to prove them wrong, and use them as my fire to keep on going. And she did! She graduated from college, she got a degree, she's currently in the middle of her third book; everything she wanted to do! She asked herself, "What describes me?" "Is it the way I act?
